Frequently Asked Questions

What official paperwork does a team have to submit prior to being considered entered in the tournament?
Ans. See this web page for this information.

Is there any other paperwork or information required prior to arriving for the tournament?
Ans:
Yes. The very first thing that Tournament Committee needs is the following information: Name of team; Home town of team; Managers Name; Manager's Email address; Manager's Cell Phone Number; Manager's Home Phone Number; Manager's Work Number; and Manager's FAX Number. The Tournament Committee needs this information ASAP to provide a means to communicate with a team. If the Team Manager is not handling the Pre-Tournament paperwork requirements then the Tournament Committee needs the above information for the team representative who will be handling this important activity. The Tournament Committee strongly recommends that the Pre-Tournament processing activities be handled by the Team Manager to avoid break downs in communication during Pre-Tournament processing activities. Additionally, the Tournament Committee requests that each team provide the following team information that will be used by the Tournament Committee to develop the tournament program: name of team coaches and name, playing position, and number for each player on the team. This information can be provided via E-mail or FAX (314-429-1705).   If this information not provided there won'tt be any communication information available to the tournament committee to contact your team and team information will no be included in the tournament program.

What is the date a team must have all pre-tournament information delivered to the Tournament Committee?
Ans.
All Pre-Tournament Information has to be into the Tournament Committee by 5:00PM on Wednesday, 28 July 2004 including entry fee. Contact the Metro St. Louis ASA office or email Rodger Finnestead the Pre Tournament Planning Coordinator if this can not be accomplished.

How do I find out if all paperwork and the entry fee have been received by the Tournament Committee?
Ans.
The registration processing status for tournament entries will be posted on the "Participants" web page on the Tournaments web site daily starting on Saturday, 10 July 2004. Additionally, the Tournament Committee will be communicating with teams that have problems with their Pre-Tournament Information and Official Entry Information. Receiving the teams entry fee is considered as a commitment to participating in the tournament by the Tournament Committee. The Tournament Committee will try to contact a team within 24-hours if interest has been expressed in the tournament.

Other than the entry fee, are there any other fees that need to be paid prior to arriving for the tournament?
Ans.
No.

Is there a procedure to appoint someone to manage the team during the tournament other than the manager of record?
Ans.
Yes. A letter written by the Manager of Record needs to be enclosed with the entry package that states the reason why the change is required. The team's local ASA State/Metro Commissioner should also be notified of the situation as soon as possible. Additionally, a letter from the replacement manager is required stating that he/she will be serving as the team Manager and that he/she will perform the duties as manager for this tournament.

If this situation arises during the tournament, the affected team manager must notify one of the following Tournament Directors, ASA Tournament Representative or Metro St. Louis ASA Commissioner. Guidance will then be provided to the affected team manager by a member of the Tournament Committee.

Is a team required to provide a team photo prior to the tournament for the program?

Ans. No. The Tournament Committee has tried to publish team photos in tournament programs for previous tournaments without much success. The quality, digital format and method of delivery of the photos were too much of a challenge when attempting to provide a quality tournament program and meet publishing deadlines.
