NOTE:

New specifications for softballs were approved in 2003 for championship play in slow pitch softball (12" and 11" Men's, Women's, and Co-Ed).  The new guidelines for all Slow Pitch will be .44 COR (Coefficient Of Restitution) which will reduce the liveliness and also the Compression (pounds of pressure per inch required to compress a softball 1/4") of the ball was reduced from 525lbs. to 375lbs.. to reduce the hardness of the ball.  The ball will have red colored stitching.  The Fast Pitch Ball was reduced from .50 COR to .47COR in 2003 and in 2004 the ball must be no more than 375lbs. Compression down from 525lbs. in 2003.
